Create relationship between inventory items and services

Note: Relations are only applicable to wireline or infrastructure services.

1. Go to Inventory > Inventory Management.
2. Open the inventory item.
3. Select the Relations Tab.
4. Click Edit.
5. Do one of the following: 
   • Click Add Internal Service: This option allows you to create relationships between two items tracked within your organization's database. A list of all assets opens.
     1. Filter or search for a specific asset. Assets matching your search criteria appear.
     2. Click on the item to automatically create a relation. The clicked item appears as a child in the hierarchy relative to the item you're viewing.

   • Click Add External Reference: this option allows you to add a reference to a service which is not in Cimpl. It appears as a child of the main service ID.

     Note: Not all inventory items can be made a child. In this case, a message will show explaining why the link cannot be made.

6. Click Execute.
7. Select one of the following: 
   • Add to New Workorder
   • Add to an Existing Workorder
   • Update Inventory Only.
8. Click Apply. The relationship has been saved.
